Private Wealth Advisor and Managing Director of the Baxter, Porter, Smith & Associates team with Ameriprise Financial Services, LLC. 

Rex and his team have been recognized by Forbes Magazine and Shook Research as one of the Best In State Wealth Advisors for the State of Utah for both 2023 and 2024.  In addition, being recognized by AdvisorHub, a leading industry organization, as one of the fastest growing advisors to watch in 2022.  He is very involved in the community, sitting on the Weber State University Athletic Board 2004, 2009 & 2010; Weber State University Board of Trustees 2010 – 2011; Weber State University Wildcat Club 2000 – 2006; Weber State University Alumni Association 2006 – 2012; American Cancer Society, Weber County Relay for Life 2016.  Rex received his BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Weber State University in 1996.  He became a Certified Financial Planner® designee in 2002.  In addition to supporting many other causes such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Volunteering at the Utah Food Bank and supporting Ogden Outdoor Adventure and Climbing Festival.  Rex loves spending time with his wife Jenni and their seven (7) children, plus a few extra’s from time to time.  He enjoys golfing and being involved in his kids passions, including everything from hobby farming to dance.
